Over the past six weeks, The Summer K.iC.K. Karate Camp participants have not only learned valuable self-defense techniques, but they have learned the value of hard work and commitment.
Last week, the majority of the students tested for and where awarded their 2nd yellow tip. Many members have earned recognition for memorizing their student promise while others have been designated student leaders in recognition for their commitment and leadership skills.
Most importantly, the students have learned that their Martial Art is so much more than learning how to defend themselves. The Martial Art is about self-respect, self-confidence, and self-mastery.
Thru the week of July 27th, 2009, The Summer K.iC.K. Karate Camp participants completed project “Clean Sweep”. During this project members worked as a community and cleaned up the school grounds of Joseph E. Gary, Located at 3740 w. 31st Chicago IL. They worked in small teams to sweep up, pick up and properly dispose of any and all debris.
The goal of this project was to teach the members of K.iC.K. the value of Pride, Respect, Responsibility and Leadership, for self, for others and the community. Parents, Staff and community members attended to participate and or show thier support of the project. On behalf of all the members of The Summer K.iC.K. Karate Camp, Thank you Very much.
